Festive Walk Iloilo hosts the biggest gathering of Ilonggo artists this year

Over 180 llonggo artists are featured at the Iloilo Arts Festival at Festive Walk Iloilo

Iloilo City — Ilonggo artistry takes the centerstage in the Iloilo Arts Festival 2022, which is being hosted by Festive Walk Iloilo.

The art fair, which will run until January 30, 2023, is featuring the works of over 180 local creatives in a special gallery located at the 2F Festive Walk Parade.

Called the Iloilo Art Pop Up Studio, the art celebration is the brainchild of Iloilo First Lady Mrs. Rosalie Trefias together with the help of the city government.

The artist lineup includes members of various Iloilo Art Groups as well as independent artists, with both emerging and veteran artists in the roster. The three-month long exhibit aims to inspire more artists to nurture their talents and help boost their livelihood.

"We can expect to see an exciting and dynamic arts showcase. Art has the potential to transform a society in many ways, and so we always want to harness that power and give the platform to our homegrown talents. We're bringing in some of the most gifted individuals in the industry so their works can be accessed by more people. It is our hope that the community can support more Filipino artists," said Karmela Jesena, General Manager of Festive Walk Iloilo.

More than 200 artworks will be on display and available for selling. To give more delight to guests, weekly activities like painting workshops, live entertainment, and more thrilling events will be open to everyone for free.

"We are happy to be extending our support to local artists, and we are always open to collaborating with the government in their pursuit of promoting local arts and culture," Jesena added.
