Accommodation plays a big role on how one’s vacation turns out to be. Different travelers have different reasons when choosing their “second home” no matter it may be. Most consider their budget and the rates, others the proximity to transport and purpose, while some to the sights and attractions a particular place has.
One the most frequent inquiries is “Is it near the airport?” and the usual answer is “Forget about it. The airport is much farther away that almost all hotels are within the same distance”. Besides, Iloilo City is just a small city that one can easily commute via public transportation.

Jaro

Jaro welcomes the travelers with heritage and gastronomy. Talk about ancestral mansions, churches and of course pasalubong. Jaro is also a gateway to northern Iloilo as well as the provinces Capiz and Aklan (Boracay). Its accommodations are mostly pension houses especially those surrounding the plaza like Jaro Bellevue Pension and Iloilo City Inn (Nagarao Pension). Both of these provide walking distance to the cultural sceneries of the district as well as gastronomy. Both are operated by gastronomic icons – Biscocho House and Bavaria German Restobar. Lelac Inn and Moritz Hotel are in front of Central Philippine University and mostly caters to the schools guests during conferences. 

Further away from the plaza is Vista Inn, fronting Iloilo Supermart – Jaro, and also near the Lizares mansion (Angelicum school), a Jaro landmark. The Centennial Resort and Hotel is inside Alta Tierra Village and boasts of resort and convention facilities. The Iloilo North terminal (Tagbac) is a kilometer further. Additional accommodations in Jaro are the Concepcion Chalet (a refurbished ancestral house at the back of Jaro Police Station), Empress Pension (Jaro Plaza) and DBs Hometel near Jalandoni Street. 

Lapaz

The district of Lapaz bridges Jaro and downtown Iloilo City and basically a transit point for commuters. Accommodations are centered in the market and plaza area of the districts. The
Grand Dame Hotel is the only first class hotel in the area and boasts of it’s proximity to the famous Ted’s and Deco’s stalls that made Lapaz famous for its batchoy. It also offers a good view of the river and Guimaras. Urban Inn nearby provides the traveler simple yet modern rooms to live the days by. Casa La Granja is a homey accommodation tucked within one of the residential portions of Lapaz.

Pensions house dot the district and most of them are found surrounding the Lapaz plaza. Meanwhile the
Sports Pension is located near the Iloilo Sports Complex while the  Empress' Pension near Gaisano Capital Mall.

City Proper - Downtown and Midtown

Most hotels and accommodations in Iloilo City are concentrated in the City Proper district. As the center of government, commerce, business and almost everything, the district almost triples it population during the day.
Midtown
For guide purposes, the midtown portion would include those bounded by Infante, Gen Luna. Mabini, and Rizal Streets. The
Sarabia Manor Hotel is the biggest hotel in Iloilo City. It is also among the landmark when it comes to the Iloilo hotel industry being one of the top players for decades. It also houses a pension in its complex. Adjacent is the most popular budget hotel, Highway 21 Hotel. Operating as a pension when it started, it now has leveled up as a hotel and its success brought other hotels in the 21 chain. Arthur Suites further away is located beside the CAP Building – another popular convention place. At the foot of the newest flyover in Iloilo City are The Residence and Riverside Inn. Both transformed the area into a small nightspot as they provide more gastronomic pleasures. The latter also operates dormitory on its top floors being right across University of San Agustin.

Further down San Agustin Street are
Fine Rock and Eon Centennial Hotels. The former has rooms as low as pension rates with the comfort of a hotel while the latter is the sister hotel of the resort hotel in Jaro. Two blocks away and near the terminal market is Chito’s Pension and right across the corner is one of the newest in town – One Lourdes Dormitel. It offers good rooms with very competitive rates. Further down along Fuentes Street is among the first hotels to cater to the budget conscious travelers – People's Hotel (formerly Four Season Hotel). Not to be confused with the famous international chain of hotels, this one is just right simple and is operated by the owner of Mang Inasal fast-food chain.Downtown
Going to the heart of Iloilo City, accommodations in this part are mostly big hotels but there are some budget places that provide more than one can imagine.
Days Hotel Iloilo is among the best located hotels in Iloilo City. It sit atop the Atrium mall with groceries and restaurants, is at the junction of major thoroughfares, just a few steps away from some famous Iloilo attractions (Museo Iloilo, Capitol Complex, Arroyo fountain) and just a walking a distance from more shopping and dining. Its buffet restaurant is among the most popular hotspot plus it gives a view of the hustle and bustle of Iloilo City from the top floors.

Just a few steps beside Atrium is
Casa Plaza, a small and tacky accommodation in the heart of the city. Deeper down Iznart is among the city’s biggest – Amigo Terrace Hotel. With a mall, offices and a prime location in the shopping and gastronomic center of the city, it is often a transit point for commuters everyday. A few steps across is Iloilo Midtown Hotel home of the famous Chinese restaurant - Summer House. The newest in the area is the Grand Tower Suites (It’s located between Days (I) and Amigo (J))

Going back a few blocks from Days Hotel, the final “21” hotel is located along Quezon Street.
Century 21 is a modern hotel located in one of the quieter streets of Iloilo City. Further along the street is the popular pension house that looks rundown when viewed from the street below. Ong Bun Pension House is among the least expensive places to stay in Iloilo City. It maybe a pension house but it actually becoming hotel like in its lay out and some accommodation. But the services still is that of a pension house. Among the most convenient – 3 minute walk to big malls (SM Delgado, Robinsons Place Iloilo, Marymart mall and Amigo Plaza) and public transport abound just when you step down the stairs. It’s typically a backpackers place with a variety of accommodations – fan rooms, shared bathrooms, aircon, with private toilet and bath, etc.

The heritage district also hosts some hotels like
Harbourtown Hotel along Aldeguer Street. The City Corporate Inn is the nearest accommodation to Ortiz wharf, the jump off point to Guimaras.

Almost near Fort San Pedro is
Villa Sagrado, a practicum hotel for the students of a school across and a few minutes walk across the Central Market is a popular convention hotel – Iloilo Grand Hotel. It is co-operated in by the owner of the Bombo Radyo Phils. Inc

Mandurriao, Molo, Villa-Arevalo and beyond

From the airport, SM City Iloilo, in Mandurriao, is the pit stop of most travelers as it provides almost everything the travelers may need and want. It’s the best landmark any traveler can think of.

A few minutes ride from the mall brings the guests to the nightlife centrale of Iloilo City popularly referred to as Smallville. Until recently, there were no hotels in this district but the lure of the nightlife brought two first class accommodations outside Downtown Iloilo City. The
Iloilo Business Hotel is the pioneer hotel in the area and is among the tallest buildings in Iloilo. Provides a great 360 degree view of Iloilo City and Guimaras in the background. Right across is MO2 Westown Hotel complete with its own bars, clubs, karaoke and the only resort in the area – El Dorado Waterpark. A new hotel in the block is aptly named as Smallville 21 Hotel of the famous 21 hotel group in Iloilo City. The newest hotel in the city is just right across the nightlife area and the main highway - Diversion 21 Hotel.

Crossing the river is the junction between City Proper and Molo districts. Turning right bring you to one of the more beautiful accommodations in Iloilo –
Hotel Del Rio. Situated right across the river, it provides a relaxing ambiance yet proximity to everything the city has to offer within a few minutes ride. Right across is La Fiesta Hotel, a budget hotel that serves as training ground of a school offering hospitality, culinary and tourism-related courses.

Further down to Villa-Arevalo districts are some resorts with accommodations along the beach, Villa Rosa by the Sea among others. The
Punta Villa resort at the tip is among the favorite convention places in Iloilo. The complex has good convention facilities, swimming pools and accommodations for any occasion.

Going outside Iloilo City from this area bring one to the town of Oton. Numerous beach resorts with ample facilities dot the area but the most popular of which is
Anhawan Beach Club. Good outdoor and indoor facilities, this resort even has an exclusive private village. The posh Sheridan Boutique Resort in Oton is among the topnotch resorts in near Iloilo City.

Accommodations nearest the Iloilo International Airports are the Pecan Pension House and Fleur de Liz Inn in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo.
