Skinetics Wellness Center: A refuge of relaxation and tranquility

The inauguration and blessing of the 5-storey YGQ building along Boardwalk Avenue beside Smallville solidifies the stand that Skinetics Wellness Center is truly among the region’s premier medical tourism destination. In a simple, yet at the same time lavish, ceremony last Oct. 27, 2011, the all in one medical spa, skin clinic, boutique hotel and restaurant of Ms. Yul Garcia Quiampang has awed the invited guests, friends, relatives and the media.
A Dinagyang presentation opened up the event after which VIPs led by Gov. Arthur Defensor, former Sec. Mike Defensor, Pavia Mayor Arcadio Gorriceta among others, cut the ribbon that finally opened the one stop wellness destination to the Ilonggos. A short mass followed and finally the whole facility was blessed.
I was fortunate enough to have been part of the event upon the invitation of Ms. Regine Algecera who is producer the TV program Good Day Western Visayas over Sky Cable Iloilo.
The first level of the building houses the Ohana Japanese Restaurant which transferred from Hotel Del Rio and serves delectable Japanese specialties.
It was one of the two buffet areas that time in order to accommodate the numerous invited guests.
Also on the same level is a first of its kind in Iloilo, as far as I know – a Kiddie Spa! With its vibrantly hued interiors and fixtures on top of all the decors that appeal to the kids [and kids at heart], this is a fitting and welcoming sight that will surely just be the start of the surprises Skinetics has in store for it’s clientele.
The second level houses the wellness center’s lobby where guests can inquire of the spa services, book their schedules and a lot more.
The most striking feature of the lobby could be the main sofa which is made of native material giving guests the sense of comfort - in style.
Still on the same level is the skin clinic where displays of various skin care products and found in its own lobby. Also on this floor are the his and hers massage rooms for particular services like head, chair and back massages plus hand and foot treatments and reflexology.
A floor above brings one to the cubicles used for shiatsu, Thai, Balinese, hot stone and hilot massages among others. With a subdued yet inviting ambiance wholly decorated to match those traditional Asian architecture and scenery.
Completing the 3rd level amenties are the sauna rooms and special rooms for the privileged who can spend at least PhP2500 [good for two] in accumulated services. They can use special private rooms that includes a Jacuzzi. Talk about pampering to the highest level …
But what sets Skinetics Well Center a notch above among other similar establishments is the inclusion of a boutique hotel in the two topmost floors. The fourth floor houses the executive and presidential suites which are not among the most well appointed hotel rooms in Iloilo City but also offers the best views.
Luxury is defined everywhere you look – from the toilet and bath to the vibrantly colored sofas and chairs to the very inviting bed and state of the art furnishing and gadgets. And their's, are also very competitive to other hotels of the same class – PhP2500, for a nigh, good for two and includes a welcome foot massage and breakfast at Ohana.
And it keeps getting better as the top floor houses the family “suite” which is the only room on this floor. True to its name, this accommodation can readily fit a group of 10 individuals into the three bedrooms and the lounge [living room with a bar] it comes with. A perfect choice for a SPArty!
Yes, it’s floor to ceiling glass wall opens to a spectacular view of the Iloilo sunset while enjoying a good massage while drinking your favorite mix. After which you can retire to one of the two executive rooms making up the up the family suite.
But if you’re the leader of the pack, the head up to the mezzanine [almost the 6th floor itself] via the spiral staircase for an accommodation almost fit for a king. The master’s bedroom is the biggest hotel room with superb amenities and fixtures and offers a good view of the Iloilo nightlife as it looks to the Smallville complex.
Also on the fifth level is the clinic of Dr Yul as well as the operating room for all those procedures needing surgical aspects like liposuction, among the slimming and contouring processes. One a side note, it also offers a great 180 degree view of the other side of Iloilo City including that Guimaras.
It was one afternoon full of wows, ahhs and ohhs as we were able to tour the facilities of this one stop wellness destination. Fully accredited by the Department of Tourism and a founding member of the Spa Association of the Philippines, Skinetics has been a trend setter of quality spa presentation and services in Iloilo City.
And within it’s new and lavish home, come and surrender yourself to the Skinetics brand of service, its unique ambiance and facilities, all of which were painstakingly developed and constantly innovated, to offer you a true refuge of relaxation and tranquility.
