Christmas is all about sharing at SM City Iloilo


The Grand Christmas Launch held last November 11, 2012, 5pm at the Event Center signals the start of the Christmas season as well as the yuletide activities in the mall.

The unveiling of the Christmas centerpiece took place to the surprise of shoppers especially the children.
SM City Iloilo has come up with this special occasion to bring joy and happiness to families, the mall being a gathering place for bonding moments, celebrate special occasions and simply enjoy the company of loved-ones.

Aside from the grand unveiling, SM takes the opportunity to be of help to indigent schoolchildren reach their dreams, by embarking on a project that will raise funds for the continuous feeding program for these children. Statistics show that there are about 5,000 underprivileged children in Iloilo City, most of them come to school on an empty stomach.
SM City Iloilo aims to unravel the true meaning of Christmas by initiating the projectby appealing to shoppers’ sense of charity and generosity by helping fill the Magical Christmas Drums with their donations. This will mean one full year of free meals for our identified public elementary school children in Iloilo.

The proceeds of this Christmas project will be turned over to the 1 Meal, One Opportunity program founded by businesswoman Maria Teresa “Nene” Chan. This foundation has committed to help many impoverished public elementary schools in Iloilo by encouraging diners in partner restaurants in Iloilo City to donate P5 for every meal they have in those establishments.
