Summer is the Best Time to Experience Guimaras!

Just a 15-minute pumpboat ride from the hustle and bustle of Iloilo City, the island of GUIMARAS offers a tranquil and unspoiled getaway.
Exploring the island starts with a good and efficient transport  -whether you commute using jeepneys and tricycles or hiring multi-cabs and vans, make sure to have everything in place for half of the journey is getting there.
This is where Experience Guimaras Van Rental Services comes in. I had my tours and some of my personal travel with friends booked with them and everything went smoothly and enjoyable.
At Php 3,500/day rental, the air-conditioned van can comfortably accommodate up to 16 people at most and you can make the most of the day visiting what's on your itinerary. But if you have, they can make one for you.

And here are some of the places I've been to, the many times I answered the beckoning call of Guimaras...

ROCA ENCANTADA

An ancestral house sits atop this enchanted rock that overlooks the sea and seven island collectively known as "Siete Pecados".
One of the most Instagrammable spots on the island, so make sure your batteries are full!

VILLA ELENA

Located across Roca Encantada an equally IG-worthy spot offering the views of the sea and the enchanted rock.
Villa Elena is made up of only two Greek-inspired accommodations ideal for a private get-away or enjoy it bigtime with up to 15 of your friends!

NAVALAS CHURCH

The oldest church on the island gives your visit some heritage and historical aspect for soc-med posts on top of the quiet time and reflection

TRAPPIST MONASTERY

The monastery dedicated to Our lady of the Philippines is the only one of its order in the country.
It offers a quiet and serene atmosphere perfect for solitary adventures and personal recollections.
Don't forget to check out its wide array souvenirs and have drinks and desserts plus more selfies at Cafe Sta. Hildegarda!

SAN LORENZO WINDMILL FARM

At the highest point and below the shadow of one of the gigantic wind turbines, one can see the vast area dedicated to this renewable energy source...
... plus its electrifying effect on the island tourism!

BALAAN BUKID

One of the most visited sites during the Holy Week, this shrine on top of a picturesque hill is adorned with the Stations of the Cross  along the pathway.
The summit capped with a giant cross that can be seen all the way from Iloilo City.

HOLY FAMILY HILLS

A place of solitude and reflection, it's another religious attraction located on a mountainside with a quiet and peaceful environs plus a lovely plaza and gardens.

NATURE'S TRAIL CAMP & RESORT

Explore the trails, dip in the pool, dine under the trees or ride the horses; there's definitely a lot of things to do.
And don't forget Hobbitown - it's own version of mini dwellings one can check in to and spend the night like Hobbits!

GUIMARAS MOUNTAIN RESORT

In harmony to its surroundings, GMR makes guests feel at home given its natural setting.
With a touch of Balinese style and a mix of modern elegance, it is perfect for peaceful and relaxing stay or a fun family outing as kids will enjoy the pool and the waterpark.
Don't forget to indulge on the delicious food offerings!

ALUBIHOD BEACH

The most popular beach in Guimaras as it comes with lots of accommodation choices and activities.
It is an ideal jump-off point for island hopping across the many islands and nature preserves in the area.

GUISI BEACH

Another popular beach, Guisi is famed because of its more rustic appeal.
The beach is more private thus less crowded, the waters cleared and there are rock formations for photo ops. Climbing a few steps up brings you to an 18th century lighthouse that has become a landmark of the place.

PLAYA DEL PARAISO

Ideal for group excursions, Playa has a wide open space and function rooms for big group activities like reunions and company outings/team building.
It also has a pool that complements its beach with scenic boulders - perfect for posing under the sun.

ANDANA RESORT

The most luxurious resort on the island, Andana offers sophistication and exclusivity from every angle.
From its deep blue infinity pool restricted to checked-in guests only to its beach pods and inflatable water park, Andana really knows how to spoil its guests!

The many islands, coves and beaches of Guimaras offer great opportunities for this activity but the most popular jump off point is at Alubihod beach.
The boating rates among the cheapest in the country and offers a whole lot of activities, places to go, beaches and island to offer and some scenes found only in Guimaras.

Check out Ave Maria Islet, Natago Beach resort, Baras Cave,  SEAFDEC reserve and more during your seascapade!

PITSTOP

With the island famous for its mangoes, Pitstop makes use of this delicious fruit for its specialty dishes like mango pizza and mango spaghetti.
But wait, there's more - chicken mango adobo, mango bangus sisig, mango beef bulalo, chicken mango curry, mango pork adobo...

OLIVIA'S KITCHEN

Olivia's Four-Cheese Mangifera Pizza is my personal favorite. And they also offer mango dishes like tuna belly sinigang sa mangga and mango sinigang con lechon plus it's summer cooler special - mango mystic!
But also check out their other equally delicious dishes as well.

EAT-ALL-YOU-CAN-MANGOES during MANGGAHAN FESTIVAL

Need I say more?
Just indulge in the sweetest mangoes and eat your heart out during the biggest festival celebration on the island every May.

Whether it's an enjoyable beach escapade and a lush mountains retreat that's on your bucket list or some heritage landmarks and sumptuous food offerings, GUIMARAS will truly fit your taste.
