Healthcare Beyond Borders TMC Iloilo shares critical care best practices to Antique MDs

ILOILO CITY – The Medical City (TMC) Iloilo shared its best practices in critical care with doctors and specialists in the province of Antique as part of its roadshow entitled “Healthcare Beyond Borders”.

Held on March 31 at Xela Boutique Hotel in San Jose, Antique, TMC Iloilo, the said roadshow series brings in critical care experts of TMC Iloilo to share some best practices, talk about updates, and discuss areas of collaboration that will benefit patient partners in the province.

The first run TMC Iloilo’s “Healthcare beyond Borders” Roadshow featured TMC Iloilo Neurologist Dr. Miguela Marie Señga and TMC Iloilo Critical Care Intensivist Dr. Debbie Noblezada-Uy who talked about “Imaging for Common Neuro Complaints in the Clinic Setting”, and the “ABC of Critical Care”, respectively.

In her talk, Dr. Señga highlighted the importance of proper diagnosis for neurological cases through the right imaging tools. She also emphasized how Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) can be an efficient procedure to manage patients effectively.

“Antique has been one of our strong allies in Western Visayas as referrals for critical cases, specifically for neuro and cardio cases, as reflected in our data. That is why we are thankful to our partner doctors here for considering TMC Iloilo as their referral hub for critical cases,” said Dr. Debbie Noblezada-Uy, TMC Iloilo Critical Care Intensivist, and Chief Medical Officer.

She also noted the strong support of Antique doctors both in the private and public sectors who expressed their excitement in partnering with TMC Iloilo for its MRI Services and Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

The economy of the Province of Antique is mostly driven by the industry. Based on the data of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in 2021, the province was the only industry-based province in Western Visayas, with Industry constituting 46.9 percent of its GPDP. The top contributors to the said growth include Mining and quarrying; Agriculture, forestry, and fishing; and Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles. (END)
