National Heritage Month Philatelic Stamp Exhibit at SM City Iloilo

In celebration of MAY as the National Heritage Month, SM City Iloilo and the PHLPost (Philippine Postal Corporation) unveiled a Philatelic Stamp Exhibit last Friday at the lower ground level of SM Northpoint.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was graced by PHLPost officers Assistant Postmaster General for Management Support Services Atty. Benjie Yotoko, Western Visayas Postal Area Director Donabelle Asuncion, Asst. Mall Manager Jasmine Maquiling, joined by National Commission for Culture and the Arts Executive Council Member Irene Magallon and Department of Tourism Admin Officer Keziah Faith Anas.

Also present during the event are Business Lines Dept. Manager Chat Adriano, Philately Chief Zenaida Trambulo, and Marketing Specialist Tess Planco.

The exhibit, which will run until May 15, 2023, showcases collections of historical stamps ranging from flowers, animals, national heroes, entertainment icons to Olympic medalists and more.

The event also highlights the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) issuance of special stamps “Kalayaan ay Pamana” with the Filipino Heritage Festival Inc. (FHFI), in line with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in commemorating #NationalHeritageMonth 2023.

“Kalayaan ay Pamana” presents eight buildings that are venues vital to the narrative of Philippine independence. These heritage structures are highlighted for they are directly associated with the birth of the Filipino nation, the first democracy and constitutional republic in the whole of Asia.
