Schedule of the 3-day highlights of Dinagyang 2016.

The drumbeats are on as the Dinagyang Festival will showcase Iloilo on January 23-24, 2016. The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) has authorized Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog to sign for and on behalf of the city government a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation Inc. (IDFI) and the San Jose Placer for the triumvirate hosting of the 48th year of the festival.

The festival has been successfully run through a public-private partnership composed of the city government of Iloilo, IDFI representing the private sector and the San Jose Placer for the religious sector.
The city government of Iloilo has allotted Php11.7 million as financial support while the IDFI will also look for other resources. The San Jose Placer will take care of the religious activities. Some Php6.7 million of the city government committed fund is expected to be released in November while the remaining amount will be in January next year.

The Dinagyang Festival was chosen as one of the Top 10 outstanding local governance programs by the Galing Pook Foundation in 2013. It showcases the religious and cultural practices of the early Iloilo settlers and their devotion to Sto. NiƱo. Its highlights are set every fourth Saturday and Sunday of January.
