SM City Iloilo features artworks of Panay artists for My City, My SM, My Art


Celebrating the lives and works of artists from Panay Island, My City, My SM, My Art is back at SM City Iloilo showcasing talented artists from various provinces on the island.
Visual artists from Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo as well as the the island of Boracay, were recognized during the opening gala and their works of art are currently on display at the activity hallway of SM City Iloilo Northpoint.

For this year, the artworks of Antipas Delotavo, Alan Cabalfin, Momo Dalisay, Anna India Legaspi, Andrew Gritzka, Alberto Emmanuel Villavert III, Alvin Bueno Jr., Lino Villaruz, Robert Vargas andEdmar Colmo will be showcased from Feb. 12 to 17 in celebration of February as Arts Month. 
The island's breathtaking beauty and rich natural resources have made it an important agricultural, tourism and cultural center with its heritage sites, festivals and traditions.
Panay's palm-fringed beaches, marine reserves, hidden waterfalls and majestic mountains as well exotic plants and animals are just among the many inspirations of the featured artists. 
But it is the people making up the Philippines' 6th largest and 4th most populous island, that made the greatest impact in the artworks of these chosen artists.
My City, My SM, My Art is a joint project of SM, the Metropolitan Museum of Manila, Shell Philippines, the Philippine Star, with support from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and Centerstage Productions. 
It is part of the “My City, My SM” campaign which promotes tourism in various places where SM has its footprints. “My City, My SM, My Cuisine” highlights the gastronomic specialties of the different host cities while “My City, My SM, My Crafts” supports of traditional arts and crafts.
