Megaworld Lifestyle Malls Partners With Safeguard To Promote Proper Hand Hygiene

Maintaining social distance and wearing face masks are now the new norm. However, health authorities have long emphasized proper hand hygiene practices as the key to reducing the transmission of COVID-19.

Megaworld Lifestyle Malls recognizes that educating and reminding the public about proper handwashing go hand in hand with its implementation of intensified sanitation and disinfection efforts.

Building on its intensive sanitation efforts in its lifestyle malls across the country, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls has partnered Safeguard, a globally trusted brand in hygiene and a household name among Filipinos when it comes to handwashing.

The collaboration with Safeguard, known for its mission of educating the public about hygiene practices, aims to encourage a culture of consistent and proper handwashing among employees and valued guests alike.

Under the partnership, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls has established Safeguard Stations at restrooms across its lifestyle malls. The Safeguard Station includes Safeguard liquid antibacterial hand soaps to help remove germs and viruses. Posters on proper handwashing techniques will also be put up in restrooms to provide a visual guide of how to wash hands correctly.

“This partnership is an extension of our commitment to ensuring that our valued guests have a safer and happier shopping experience. Through our collaborative effort with Safeguard, we hope to go beyond setting safety standards and protocols and highlight the importance of a community that values shared information and education as an important tool to fight COVID-19,” says Graham Coates, first vice president and head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls.

“60% of handwashing occasions actually happen outside the home. As industries reopen, it is important for us to make our degerming products accessible for every Filipino. Megaworld has been a partner of P&G not just in business but in nation-building, and we are confident that through partnerships like this, we help rebuild a SAFE Philippines. It is only natural that we do our part in helping rebuild the nation as we transition to a new normal,” Shweta Sharma, vice president, P&G Philippines.
