Caring That Matters : Pro-Friends conducts tree-planting, community service in Lambunao

Volunteers composed of Property Company of Friends, Inc. (PRO-FRIENDS) employees and homeowners from its communities, Parc Regency Residences and Monticello Villas, conducted a tree-planting activity in Brgy. Tampucao in Lambunao, Iloilo, as part of the company's corporate social responsibility program.

Travelling more than an hour from Pavia tfor this CSR community program, the group also engage with a hundred kids through story-telling and a feeding program.

The volunteers have expressed their excitement in performing social responsibility activities which can not only have a positive effect on the children but to the environment as well.



"We are happy to be able to come together to spend time with the GK community that we look after in Brgy. Tampucao in the municipality of Lambunao." said PRO-FRIENDS Iloilo head Mary Pauline Villagante

"This is one of the many activities where our employees in PRO-FRIENDS and our homeowners in Parc Regency Residences and in Monticello Villas join forces to do good to others,".


Hundreds of saplings/seedlings planted

A total of 200 saplings/seedlings were provided by the local baranggay officials and were distributed to the volunteers who happily withstood the weather to plant these. Over the years, the trees will provide the community with a welcoming sight of greenery, protection from the wind and rain, and shade during warm days, among many others.


"I'm happy to be part of this activity as we fulfill our duty to the environment. The issue on global warming has been a hot topic recently and I am grateful that our company does its share to help ease this global situation. In our own little way, this is our contribution to the community and the environment," says Ferdinand Martirizar, PRO-FRIENDS Estate and Management Head.


Children gets nutritious treat Kids from the community benefitted from the feeding program prepared by PRO-FRIENDS. Hot soup, malunggay pandesal and fruit juice were served to 100 kids. Then they were entertained by the story-telling activity which also imparted lessons to their young, inquiring minds.

"It is delightful to see the kids enjoying. Not only did they get the nutrition for their body, but we were also able to feed their minds and exercised their creativity and imagination," says PRO-FRIENDS Community Development Supervisor Neil Artiola.
