Megaworld celebrates A Dazzling Christmas at Iloilo Business Park

Iloilo Business Park brings back the memories the yesteryears in a dazzling "nostalgic childhood Christmas"-themed mega display as property giant Megaworld Corp. officially launched the merriest season of the year in Iloilo City.

A 40-foot Christmas Tree serves as the township's Holiday centerpiece and a colorful display of lights dubbed as "Enchanted Forest of Lights" brightens the whole township, Megaworld brings the most dazzling Christmas ever the Ilonggos!

Launched last Nov. 8 , the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony was led by Iloilo City Councilor Jay TreƱas, Iloilo Business Park vice president for sales and marketing Jennifer Palmares-Fong, and Festive Walk Iloilo general manager Buford Tan.

Keeping the nostalgia and magic of Christmas alive, local performers from Parkour Iloilo, Jumpstreet Gymnastics, and Claravall-Gonzales School of Classical Ballet regaled the audience with their aerial tricks, acrobatics, and graceful ballet performances.
Over 40 kids from families belonging to the Ati Community of Lanit—an indigenous community based in Jaro, Iloilo—added flair to the celebration with their surprise performance.

Concluding the Christmas kickoff celebrations was the Kinaadman Chorale, which serenaded the crowd with their own rendition of classic Yuletide carols.

Adding more color and luster to the evening's festivities was the official launch and lighting of the 'Enchanted Forest of Lights,' a collection of giant lighted installations scattered all over the Iloilo Business Park - Megaworld Boulevard, Festive Walk Mall, Festive Walk Parade, and Plaza Delgado.

A must-see attraction within the 72-hectare township this holiday season, the Enchanted Forest of Lights is composed of huge LED-lighted displays that reach as high as 15 feet. These include larger-than-life replicas of squirrels, dogs, bears, and giraffes, as well as sea animals like goldfish, dolphins, octopus, and whales.

A display of fantasy creatures, such as the unicorn, also added to the magical wonder evoked by the whimsical lighted displays.
"Christmas is all about savoring moments and creating new memories with your loved ones.

With our dazzling displays, attractions and events, we invite everyone to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year here at Iloilo Business Park," Palmares-Fong said.

During the event, Festive Walk Iloilo also unveiled a series of upcoming and exciting events and activities in store for mall goers this Holiday season.

An experience of wonder and adventure awaits Ilonggos at 'The Mega Book Fair' happening from November 8-11, while a display of glam fashion finds will also be showcased at the Iloilo Designers Week from November 18-30.

Rounding up the treats for the season are Christmas fairs featuring with interesting local products, great deals and promos, a meet and greet opportunity with Santa and more performances.

St. Joseph Chapel at Festive Walk Iloilo's The Deck

While most malls around the country host Sunday masses in some obscure hallway filled with plastic chairs with a makeshift altar, some malls have built niches or transformed unused spaces into places of worship. And Ilonggos should be proud that one of the newest malls in Iloilo City has actually a chapel located in a prime spot and one that boasts both beauty and serenity.  The St. Joseph Chapel at Festive Walk Iloilo is located in one of its al fresco areas known as The Deck located  at the 3rd level. While this open air area also has a mini plaza and dog park (and soon - cafes and restaurants) it is the chapel that highlights this al fresco part of the mall. Eucharistic mass services are held every Sunday at 11am while first Friday masses at 5pm.  It is open to the public everyday for personal moments of silence and solitude. The Deck and everything in it is open from 10am to 10pm with the entrance located betwee...
