The Medical City Iloilo kicks off Christmas with star lanterns switch on

Christmas is now felt and seen in The Medical City Iloilo as the hospital switched on the Christmas star lanterns that adorn its façade on November 18.

A total of 77 stars were lighted during the switch on ceremony held at the Iloilo River Esplanade 2 and was attended by the employees and some patient partners of The Medical City Iloilo.

The event was highlighted with the untying of the Christmas gift led by TMC Iloilo Chief Executive Officer Dr. Felix Ray Villa, TMC Iloilo Chief Medical Officer Dr. Debbie Noblezada-Uy, TMC Iloilo Physician Engagement and Development Unit Head Dr. Ma. Sancha Pauline Apolto-Garcia, TMC Iloilo Patient Partner Merlinda Junio and TMC Iloilo Executive Committee members.

“This is the first time that we’re having this kind of event and we’re making it more memorable as the Christmas lanterns that we lighted up tonight were crafted by the inmates the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Iloilo and symbolize the burning passion of every TMC Iloilo patient partner to bring quality service and embody what patient partnership is,” TMC Iloilo CEO Dr. Felix Ray Villa said.

“By having this project which is also part of TMC Iloilo’s corporate social responsibility, we are also giving the inmates hope and more importantly something that they can share for their family this coming Christmas,” he added.

TMC Iloilo Ceremonial Switch On of Christmas Star Lanterns was also made special by performances from TMC Iloilo chorale who rendered their versions of popular Christmas songs.
