#ONEGlobeVSCoViD: Globe employees raise P27.5M for COVID-19 assistance for 50 hospitals

Globe Telecom employees have raised over P27.5 million from a fundraising initiative primarily aimed at providing much-need personal protective equipment, face shields, and face masks to healthcare workers in 50 hospitals across the country. The #OneGlobeVsCOVID project of the company’s over 8,000 workforce realized a total employee donations of P13.79 million which was 100% matched by Singtel and Globe.  Singtel is one of the shareholders of Globe. “We are extremely proud of our employees for their generosity.  Our efforts as OneGlobe have seen support for our fellow Filipinos coming together not only from our employees and shareholders but even our customers as well," said Ernest Cu, Globe President and CEO. SM Supports Iloilo City, WV with Medical supplies, Relief Assistance

The SM Group has turned over the medical supplies donation to the City of Iloilo and other hospitals in Western Visayas. The donation for Iloilo City forms part of SM’s P170M support for the government, communities, and hospitals to contain and overcome the COVID-19 pandemic. PPEs and medical supplies were turned over to the Iloilo City Government,through Mayor Jerry TreƱas, to be allocated to different hospitals in Iloilo City to equip medical workers with the proper tools to manage patients in their respective facilities. Megaworld donates P60-M worth of covid-19 test labs to Philippine Red Cross

Andrew Tan-led Megaworld Corporation has donated P60-million to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) to set up COVID-19 testing laboratories in Metro Manila. The donation was used to purchase of four (4) brand-new sets of COVID-19 test laboratories. Each test laboratory has two RT-PCR (reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction) machines, one (1) RNA machine that speeds up the test capability of the laboratory, a medical lab freezer, and a bio-safety cabinet that protects samples from contamination. “This will further strengthen our government’s efforts in detecting COVID-19 cases so we can really get to focus on them and prevent more people from being infected. SM foundation, Uniqlo extends more relief assistance to Iloilo City

Through its sustained partnership with Uniqlo Philippines, SM Foundation was able to distribute kalinga packs to families of Brgy. Bolilao, Mandurriao in Iloilo City, affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine. It can be recalled that through the Iloilo City Government, SM And Uniqlo have earlier extended assistance to the different jeepney associations in the city, the tricycle and trisikad drivers in Jaro, affected residents in Brgy. LATEST UPDATE: MAYOR TREƑAS REIMPOSES LIQUOR BAN. NO MORE SELLING. Cites various incidents that may arise from intoxication. The Iloilo City Government under Mayor Jerry TreƱas issued EO 66 amending Section 12 of EO 55-A Series of 2020 LIQUOR BAN. The Executive Order amendment is summarized as follows:  ●SELLING OF LIQUORS WILL NOW BE ALLOWED but subject to the following conditions: ■Drinking in public is (still) prohibited. ■Social distancing must be observed. ■ Big gatherings such as fiestas and other activities are (still) prohibited. ■ Liquor Ban (on SELLING) SHALL BE AUTOMATICALLY REIMPOSED IF THERE ARE ANY REPORTED VIOLATIONS OR ABUSES TO THE ABOVE. SM Foundation Inc. Donates PPEs to Vis-Min Hospitals

SM Foundation Inc. recently donated Personal Protective Equipment and medical supplies to hospitals in the Visayas & Mindanao areas, in line with its commitment to be of service to the Filipino public, its hospitals, and its government during the coronavirus pandemic. ILOILO - ICU-grade ventilator, PPEs, and medical supplies arrive at the West Visayas State University Medical Center in IloIlo City. 2GO All Set to Welcome Repatriated Seafarers for Mandatory Quarantine

2GO Group Inc. is ready to welcome aboard returning Filipino seafarers and workers to carry out their mandatory 14-day quarantine on two of its passenger vessels, the shipping and logistics company announced. In partnership with the Department of Transportation (DOTr), 2GO provided these passenger vessels to be used as quarantine facilities. The move was in response to the call of Secretary Arthur Tugade for private passenger ships to be used for this purpose because of tight capacities.
