SM Supports Iloilo City, WV with Medical supplies, Relief Assistance


The SM Group has turned over the medical supplies donation to the City of Iloilo and other hospitals in Western Visayas.


The donation for Iloilo City forms part of SM’s P170M support for the government, communities, and hospitals to contain and overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.


PPEs and medical supplies were turned over to the Iloilo City Government,through Mayor Jerry TreƱas, to be allocated to different hospitals in Iloilo City to equip medical workers with the proper tools to manage patients in their respective facilities.


Two(2)ventilators for the West Visayas State University Medical Center were allocated through the Iloilo City government, on top of the other donations for various hospitals which includes surgical and N95 masks, alcohol, personal protective clothings, raincoats, protective googles, hygiene kits, nitrile gloves and shoe covers.

Recently, food packs was also distributed by SM Foundation for support to affected sectors in the city.

These donations were channeled, with the help of the city government, to the different jeepney associations in the city, as well as pedicab and tricycle drivers in Molo and Mandurriao districts.


These drivers’ livelihood were adversely affected with the lockdown being implemented in the city. Families who are in most need, were also given relief goods in Brgy. Bolilao in Mandurriao,recently


SM Foundation and Uniqlo extended assistance to the families of the SM Cares Village in Brgy. Bacjawan Sur in Concepcion, Iloilo.

The SM Cares Village is a permanent relocation village for 200 families displaced during Typhoon Yolanda built and funded by SM group of companies in a lot donated by Mrs. Ruth Tirol-Jarantilla.


PPEs were likewise turned over to Concepcion LGU, through Mayor Raul Banias, as well as for the Iloilo provincial Hospital in Pototan in Iloilo town.


SM has committed in ensuring that the Ilonggos, its hospitals, and its communities, contain and overcome the COVID-19 crisis in partnership with the local government unit of Iloilo City and its surrounding areas.


SM also turned over the donations for the other provinces in Western Visayas, specifically to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City, Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital in Roxas City, and Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Hospital Kalibo, Aklan.
