The Iloilo City Government prepared itself well when Typhoon Agaton lashed out certain portions of the Visayas last April 2022. Despite not under any Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal, the city experienced more than the usual rainfall and moderate winds which were both under 24/7 monitoring. On top of all this was the Iloilo City Operations Center under the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office which led overseeing the whole city during the #AgatonPH. The Public Safety and Transportation Management personnel monitored the coastal barangays and secured those in the area. They also conduct river patrol and clean-up (removal of debris which may clog the river) regularly to ensure smooth waterflow especially when there is an upcoming weather disturbance. The CDRRMO-USAR personnel conducted water level monitoring at the Calubihan Bridge where the Dungon Creek flows.
